Hi guys,
Just after a few tips for using beetle spins for river bass. I fish the Nepean and was just wondering what colours and size you guys use. Also what tips you have for using them.
Thanks,
Michael

Sadly I have nothing because the majority of my fishing is on the surface. Rarely go subsurface these days and have never used a beetle spin!

I use pretty small blades. Don't know the size, but if I wanted a bugger blade I'd just use a spinnerbait. You just want the blade to flash a little bit when you move it, like a baitfish rolling in the sunlight.
I tend to use a t-tail pattern, and favorite would be a slider grub.
As far as tips for using them?
Well, I personally fish them the same way I would fish a t-tail grub without the blade. So, basically hopping the bottom, or slow (very slow) rolling them.
I don't think there is much more to it than that.
I've barely used them lately because I've hardly bass fished. And when I have I've gone surface or bibbed lures.
